How to Donate – Individuals
AS AN INDIVIDUAL, HOW CAN I DONATE ITEMS TO YOU?
HOW WILL MY ITEMS BE USED?
Medi Tech Trust is pleased to receive donations. These are of great benefit to communities in war torn and low-income countries. Some items can be donated to local foodbanks.
Individuals throughout the UK contact us as no-one wants usable items to be incinerated or sent to landfill. For many reasons – retirement, bereavement, business closure, overstocking or surplus stock, many individuals look for a charity to donate these items to – so here we are.
You can be assured that whatever we receive, goes to a worthwhile cause, charity or community through our Medigive® Initiative.
This page is specifically for individuals, in the hope that most of your initial queries are answered. There is also a dedicated email address: medigive@meditechtrust.org

WHICH ITEMS CANNOT BE ACCEPTED?

HOW CAN I GET MY ITEMS TO YOU?
There are several methods dependent upon your location.
By Post
As a charity we have to consider the costs for items to be collected. If your items are quite light, by way of a small contribution you may wish to pop them in the post to our charity’s address above. We understand if you are not able to post, but much as we would like to, for small numbers of light items it is not viable for us to collect.
When posting, it is acceptable to take loose items out of manufacturer boxes, provided they are still in their individual sterile packaging. In this way many items can be packed into a single box, saving on the cost of postage. Can you please include a note inside the package, then we can match the donation to you.
By an arranged collection
For larger quantities and bulkier items such as crutches and walkers, it may be possible to arrange a collection. Please email us at medigive@meditechtrust.org providing the following details:
Name, Address and Telephone number
A brief description of the items you would like us to collect
We try to collect within the East Sussex area. For those further afield we will discuss how we can proceed.
By using a participating GP surgery
If you are East Sussex based, it may be possible for you to drop small scale consumables into a GP surgery holding one of our yellow recycling bins. Please contact us for further details.
By personally delivering to us
If you are fairly local you can drop your items off in person at our charity’s Hailsham unit between 9.00am – 4.00 pm.. You will find us on the business centre estate at the rear of the Station Road recycling facility for domestic and garden waste.
Directions from Eastbourne or Brighton via Polegate
Follow the A22 dual carriageway to Hailsham and drive towards the town centre. As you drive over the old railway bridge turn right into Station Road just before traffic lights. Continue to the end of the houses, past traffic calming bollards and turn left when you see the recycling sign. Pass the recycling facility on your right, then turn right as you approach the fence at the rear. Drive through the gates and follow round to the left to Unit 6 marked Medi Tech Trust.
Directions from Eastbourne or Hastings via Stone Cross
On reaching the traffic lights at Stone Cross, take the B2104 road signposted to Hailsham. Continue past Hilliers Garden Centre, following the road around to World of Water. Just past World of Water take the first right (Saltmarsh Lane) and follow for 4-5 minutes. Drive to the end of the houses. Go straight over the new roundabout and turn right when you see the recycling sign. Pass the recycling facility on your right, then turn right as you approach the fence at the rear. Drive through the gates and follow round to the left to Unit 6 marked Medi Tech Trust.
